MPEG Header Corrector
(How to fit a dual layer DVD disc onto one DVDR disc)

In this tutorial, you will learn how to repair an MPEG file with broken or damaged headers. These are most commonly recognized as the MPEGs that TMPGEnc or other video processing/editing programs will often not recognize, even though it appears to you to be a complete MPEG.

Download MPEG Header Corrector here.

Step 1

This program is very simple to use. Begin by clicking "File" and then "Open MPEG", as indicated in the picture below.

Step 2

You will be presented with a standard "Browse" window. Simply browse to the location of your broken MPEG, and choose it.

Step 3

Next, you will be immediately presented with a second "Browse" window. You will now type in the filename under which you would like to save the fixed MPEG.

The only way you'll even notice is by looking at the window title, and as you'll notice, it now says "Save fixed MPEG as". This was the reason for the arrows.

Step 4

Click "Fix It!" and wait a few seconds. That's right, I said seconds. This program is really fast, since it is not actually encoding the video, but rather it is simply repairing the headers.
